JAKARTA - Deputy Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Didi Soekarno, responded to the statement by the Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan DPP, Djarot Saiful Hidayat regarding the presidential and vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a reflection of the neo-new order.

"The dichotomy of the new order with the previous and subsequent orders should have been resolved. Talking about this dichotomy only uses up the nation's energy. We should look forward together to build a more advanced Indonesia," said Didi Soekarno to journalists, Monday 6 November in Jakarta.

Didi Soekarno, who is also the Daily Chair of the Marhaen Youth Movement, emphasized that what Djarot said was a wrong analogy.

"The period of leadership of the nation's leaders is 'sunatullah' which must be experienced and lived by the Indonesian people. Every leader is essentially a person who was chosen in his era. Each era will give birth to its leaders and at the same time give birth to its generation," explained Didi at length.

For the grandson of Bung Karno and the son of the late Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, the most important thing now is to work together to build the nation by continuing the good things and changing the things that are not appropriate.

"We should take and continue all the best 'legacy' from the nation's leaders," said Didi Soekarno, ending the discussion about accusations that Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming were neo-New Order.
