Charta Politica Survey: Prabowo's Electability Starts Unconsistent, Ganjar-Mahfud Potentially Overtakes

JAKARTA - Charta Politica distributed the results of the latest survey of electoral maps after the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK), as well as the registration of Presidential Candidates (candidates) and Vice Presidential Candidates (Cawapres) for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). From the latest findings, Charta Politica was recorded as Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto who competed strongly in the simulation of two presidential candidates. The electability of Ganjar and Prabowo is considered to have almost equal strength in the minds of voters. Prabowo Subianto earned 44.4 percent of the vote electability. Meanwhile, Ganjar Pranowo's electability was in the percentage of 40.8 percent. Executive Director of Charta Politica Yunarto Wijaya said that Prabowo's electability survey results are now starting to become inconsistent. Prabowo Subianto has experienced a decline in electability after the Constitutional Court's decision and the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates were made. The election of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a readingwapres has been a negative impact on Prabowo's own electability. The Prabowo-Gibran pair are considered by the public as the approval of the political elite on dynastics and undermine democratic values. "Of this number, 49.9 percent of respondents agreed that this was an abuse of authority to make it easier for President Jokowi's son to become a candidate for Vice President," Yunarto said in an electronic message received by journalists in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 7. And Charta Politica's findings also see how the majority of the people actually reject the results of the dynastic political decisions that have occurred through the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Anwar Usman, who is known to be Jokowi's brother-in-law. “ 59.3 percent of respondents disagreed with dynastic political practices, Yunarto said.

For additional information, the "Electoral Map Post-MK Decision & Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate Registration" survey was conducted by Charta Politica in the period 26-31 October 2023. The survey was conducted with a sample of 2.400 respondents spread throughout Indonesia with an age range of 17 years and over or has met the voter requirements by face-to-face interview method. Calculations are carried out using a sampling multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of 2 samples and a quality control of 20 percent of the total sample.
