High Electric Rail Train Mass Transport Users, KCI Chooses Youth 19 Train Series

JAKARTA - The high interest of the public using mass transportation for commuter electric rail (KRL) continues to increase. So that PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) or KAI Commuter continues to make improvements and service improvements.

One of them is by retrofitting or rejuvenating the electric rail facilities (KRL). A total of 19 commuter line KRL trainers have updated their technology from the old system gradually over the next five years. This is so that the technology in the train series is more modern, equivalent to the new train.

"With the new KRL and retrofitting, it is hoped that the service will be better. Maintenance is more efficient, speed (trains) can be maximized," said PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) Corporate Secretary, Anne Purba, to reporters, Monday, November 6.

As is known, KCI retrofits 19 of their fleets so that railway technology can be equivalent to the latest KRL train.

"The difference between retrofitting with the new (trains), if (trains) are new and new technology. The technology retrofits are new but old sequences," he said.

The retrofitting process for the train series is also claimed to have no effect on KRL travel services. With the series being retrofitting or rejuvenated, the series will be more energy efficient.

"(moreover) the efficiency of electricity needs, the better, the more efficient. This new (retrofit) technology is related to maintenance and technology," he said.

Anne hopes that this acceleration of rejuvenation can meet the needs of the number of facilities in service to KRL users which are predicted to continue to increase.
