West Pasaman Police Ordered Illegal Gold Mining In Talamau

PASAMAN BARAT - West Pasaman Resort Police, West Sumatra again carried out a patrol to control illegal gold mining in Jorong Tombang, Nagari Sinuruik, Talamau District by following the river flow in the area.

"This routine patrol will continue and we will improve it in the future. On Thursday (2/11) the Talamau Police under the leadership of Iptu Yuli Dekri carried out a patrol to control gold mining at Tombang Talamau," said West Pasaman Police Chief AKBP Agung Basuki at Simpang Empat reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 3.

He said that from the results of the patrol carried out by the Talamau Police, the team did not find the perpetrator and heavy excavator type equipment.

However, finding a new location suspected of being a gold mining place without permission by the community.

"At that location, our team only found two huts belonging to workers and several mining equipment as well as several former gold mining holes without permits left by the perpetrators," he said.

After walking along the Tombang Mudiak river, the Talamau Police gave an appeal to the public through loudspeakers to the local mosque to take firm action against illegal gold mining actors.

The routine patrol was previously carried out in Ranah Batahan District on Wednesday (1/11).

"This is proof of our seriousness in eradicating illegal gold mining activities," he said.

According to information in the field, he said, on the banks of the Tombang Mudiak river, people often use it to mine illegal gold, starting from gaining, using robin machines, and some even use heavy excavator equipment.

AKBP Agung Basuki emphasized that this control will continue to be carried out throughout West Pasaman Regency by intensifying patrols and law enforcement against perpetrators of gold mining without a permit.

We will continue to hold similar activities. This is a warning step so that illegal gold mining actors and workers no longer carry out activities that can damage the environment," he said.

Because apart from violating the law, this mining activity damaged the environment, ecosystem and polluted river water because it was suspected of using Raksa water to mine gold.
