Former KPK Investigator: Alex Tirta's Examination Opens SYL's Extortion Tabir

JAKARTA - Former KPK investigator, Yudi Purnomo, assessed that the steps taken by the Polda Metro Jaya to examine Tirta Juwanda Darmadji alias Alex Tirta could reveal allegations of extortion as well as meetings between the KPK leadership and litigants.

Alex Tirta was originally scheduled to provide information about the rental of a house on Jalan Kertanegara number 46, South Jakarta, which was used as a'safe house' for the KPK chairman, Firli Bahuri, today.

"The examination of Alex Tirta will certainly open the veil of the alleged extortion case by the KPK leadership as well as the criminal act of the KPK leadership allegedly meeting with litigants at Kertanegara's house number 46," said Yudi in his statement, Friday, November 3.

This examination is also considered to be able to reveal the location of the alleged extortion of former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL.

This is because until now it is not clearly known the series of incidents of alleged extortion.

On the other hand, the former chairman of the KPK Employee Forum also assessed that during the examination, investigators would investigate the status of renting a house. This belief is due to differences in statements from both Firli Bahuri and Alex Tirta.

Where, Firli Bahuri through his attorney had stated that only one room was rented by his client. The price is also called the range of Rp. 100 million.

Meanwhile, Alex Tirta said that Firli Bahuri paid a rent of Rp. 650 million. The payment was directly paid to the owner of the house.

"Regarding the status of the house, what is different between Alex Tirta and Firli Bahuri's side will certainly be one of the examination materials by the Polda Metro Jaya investigators," he said.

In fact, Yudi assessed that the examination would not only strengthen the evidence of the case being investigated. However, the possibility of investigating new criminal acts related to the status of the house.

"In addition to strengthening the evidence from the case being investigated, there could be a new crime related to the status of the house," said Yudi.

Meanwhile, entrepreneur of nightclubs and Daily Chair of the Central Board of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), Alex Tirta, did not fulfill the summons for examination at Polda Metro Jaya, on Wednesday 1 November. Health is the reason Alex was not present.

"Information to investigators that Alex Tirta was unable to attend today's scheduled examination schedule at 14.00 WIB for health reasons," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.

With Alex Tirta's absence from today's examination, his team of attorneys asked investigators to reschedule the examination process.
