Jusuf Kalla Calls "Quit Nazilah" To Support Palestine

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) Muhammad Jusuf Kalla called on all Muslims to perform Qunut Nazilah (prayers read before prostration last in obligatory prayers when experiencing disasters) to support Palestine.

"Following the current conditions in Palestine due to acts without humanity from Israel against Palestine, the Indonesian Mosque Council calls on all Muslims, especially in the implementation of Friday prayers (3/11), to perform Nazi Qunut," said Jusuf Kalla (JK) as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 1.

Qunut Nazilah's prayer was also explained so that the perpetrators of crimes against humanity would be punished according to their crimes by God Almighty.

"The Palestinian and Israeli crisis is no longer an interfaith war, but is entirely a struggle to defend the rights of humanity and independence for the Palestinian people," said JK.

According to him, Palestinian fighters who died while defending human rights were martyred or died honorably as heroes.

"People who are martyred no longer need to carry out a procession of invisible prayers," he said.

JK also advised all Indonesian people regardless of ethnicity, religion and race in the name of humanity to garner solidarity and support for Palestine in accordance with the mandate in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution (UUD) of the Republic of Indonesia.

He sees the need for an official stance from the Indonesian government to support the independence struggle of the Palestinian people.

Previously, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi urged that fuel supplies could enter Gaza for the operation of Indonesian hospitals driven by MER-C volunteers.

"From our communication with MER-C volunteers in the field, information was obtained that the remaining time was approximately 48 hours since this morning before the main generator (of the hospital) experienced down (dead)," said Retno.

Therefore, Indonesia continues to seek the entry of fuel, clean water, and basic materials that are urgently needed by Gazans in the midst of ongoing fighting between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas resistance group.
