Bareskrim Names 12 Syahrul Yasin Limpo Legal Firearms

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has investigated the status of 12 firearms (senpi) belonging to the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo. As a result, all of them are registered with the National Police's Baintelkam.

"All are registered on behalf of SYL," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro to reporters, Monday, October 30.

Of the dozens of guns, some of them are said to be grants. However, it was not explained in detail about the types, numbers, to those who donated senpi to Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

It was only conveyed that all the files or proof of ownership of the dozens of guns were complete. This means that the 12 weapons have legal status.

"The proof of the grant is there, meanwhile that's what we got," he said.

Regarding the allocation of senpi, it is said, from the data received by the investigative team, all of them are sports weapons.

"All weapons registered in the baintel are official weapons. (The designation) for sports, or sports weapons, is not for self-protection," said Djuhandhani.

Dozens of senpi are the findings of the KPK as a result of a search at the Syahrul Yasib Limpo official residence in Widya Chandra, South Jakarta, on September 28-29, 2023.

Then, the KPK had handed over the gun to the Polda Metro Jaya. Shortly thereafter, the handling was withdrawn to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

It is known that several rifles were found from SYL's official residence, the S&W, Walther, Tanfoglio, and others.
