Middle-aged Man Arrested By TransJakarta Officers For Recording Body Parts Of Female Passengers

JAKARTA - A TransJakarta bus passenger employee gets an unpleasant act by male passengers on an operating bus.

A woman named Yossy became a victim of sexual harassment in the form of indecent video recording by a middle-aged man who wore a cap named Arsad. However, the victim managed to find out the perpetrator's actions and caught him.

According to the victim's statement to VOI, the incident occurred in the Merak Jakarta Toll Road area, Tangerang, towards the Islamic bus stop, Tangerang City on Friday, October 27, evening.

At that time, the victim was riding a TransJabodetabek T11 bus on the Burderan Senayan-Poris Plawad route. The victim sat on the bus while playing on his cellphone.

However, in front of the victim there was a middle-aged man wearing a cap and a backpack that was placed in front of his body. Secretly, the perpetrator recorded one of the parts of the victim's body with his cellphone.

"So the position is waiting for the bus to arrive (from Bunsen - Islamic Tangerang) while reading the article. The condition is still full. Then suddenly there is a passenger, the woman who is behind the battery (perpetrator) shouted. Mbak, from earlier, Ms. Ridicipated with the father (perpetrator)," said victim Yossy to VOI, Sunday, October 29.

Realizing that his actions were starting to become known, the perpetrator tried to delete the indecent video footage, but the victim failed. By moving quickly and assisted by TransJakarta security officers. The officers also secured the perpetrator's cellphone for examination.

"(It turns out) it is true that there is a video of me that is focused on the waist down. Then the father (the perpetrator), tries to reclaim his cellphone and disturbs other passengers, especially women," he said.

The perpetrator was also secured by TransJakarta officers. Meanwhile, the victim had received moral support from other female passengers because he dared to speak up. The victim and the perpetrator were then secured by TransJakarta officers to the Poris Plawad bus stop for questioning.

However, when the officers were taken away, the perpetrator did not look guilty. The perpetrator actually smiled when he was secured by the officers.

"This perpetrator even laughed. TransJakarta officers are very cooperative in protecting the victim, even to the Resort Police. I dare to speak up so that it can be followed up immediately, because if the victim does not speak up, after the perpetrator goes down, this cannot be processed," he said.

Furthermore, TransJakarta officers handed over the perpetrators to the Tangerang Police along with evidence of indecent video recordings for legal processing. However, the victim did not make a report because according to the police, no one could testify.

The victim hopes that the perpetrator will have a deterrent effect on his actions that harm women. Moreover, when at the police, the perpetrator's wife and daughter came to the police station. The perpetrator then made a statement letter.

"(I) believe that the retaliatory of netizens is more sadistic and mentally affected. This father has a daughter and a wife. Thx is very much the same as Transjakarta services, really not only anti-sexual harassment counseling but also with actions," he said.
