Jokowi Inaugurates Amran Sulaiman As Minister Of Agriculture To Replace Syahrul Yasin Limpo

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially inaugurated Amran Sulaiman today, Wednesday, October 25. The inauguration was held at the State Palace, Jakarta.

From the monitoring of the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, this activity was carried out at 09.00 WIB starting by singing the anthem Indonesia Raya. Then Presidential Decree Number 101 P of 2023 concerning the Appointment of the Minister of Agriculture of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

"Decided and set the next one for Brother Andi Amran Sulaiman as Minister of Agriculture for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet in the remaining term of office for the 2019-2024 period," read out the decision by the Deputy for Apparatus Administration Nanik Purwanti.

After the decision was read, President Jokowi led the oath-taking accompanied by clergy. "Please follow and repeat my words," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

"By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. And will carry out the laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state," said Jokowi, followed by Amran.

"That in carrying out my duties and positions, I will uphold the ethics of my position, work my best with a full sense of responsibility," he continued.

As previously reported, Amran replaced the position left by Syahrul Yasin Limpo for being a suspect in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He has held this position in President Jokowi's administration for the 2014-2019 period.
