Firli Bahuri Not Banned From Going Abroad, Police: Still Cooperative

The National Police said that they did not apply for demarcation or prevention from going abroad against KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. In the case of alleged extortion of former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL, joint investigators from the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya and Dittipikor Bareskrim Polri assessed that Firli as a witness was still cooperatively questioned. "Meanwhile, the investigative team still considers it cooperative," said Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Tuesday, October 24. Previously, Ade said Firli admitted that there was a meeting with SYL. Firli-SYL's meeting at the Sports Center (GOR) in mid-March 2022. "Certaining [the existence of the Firli-SYL meeting]. It's about March 2022," he said.

During the investigation at Bareskrim Polri today, Firli was questioned about the alleged extortion of SYL. He was examined for about seven hours. However, Firli's arrival and return from Bareskrim Polri were secretly deposited. Regarding the joint investigator's material that examined Firli so that this case was clear, Ade was reluctant to reveal it. He only mentioned that Firli was examined as a witness. "We cannot reveal the investigation material yet. But what is clear is that he acknowledged the meeting," said Ade. After undergoing examination today, Bareskrim Polri opened the possibility of recalling Firli again. However, joint investigators will first examine the completeness of information regarding the alleged extortion before determining the next steps.
