12 Electrically Shocked Internet Network Installation Workers In Sukabumi

Dozens of internet network installation workers who were installing internet poles in Lodayalilir Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java were unconscious due to being electrocuted.

"There were 12 internet network installation workers who were rushed to Sekarwangi Hospital in Cibadak due to electrocution. Of the 12 victims, one victim died, 10 victims recovered and the other is still undergoing intensive treatment," said Public Relations of Sekarwangi Hospital Ramdan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 23.

According to Ramdan, the victim who died was known as Agus Taryana. When he arrived at the hospital, his condition was weak, unconscious and there were burns from an electric shock.

"The bodies of the victims who died have been picked up by the family to be buried immediately in their hometowns," he said.

Information gathered from survivors said the work accident began when 15 internet network installation workers wanted to raise the internet pole in Karangtengah Village, Cibadak District.

Of the 15 officers, 12 people held parts of the internet pole. Allegedly when they were about to build a pole made of iron, the end stuck to the power grid cable. Instantly, dozens of employees were electrocuted and immediately bounced unconscious.

Dozens of employees who were victims were immediately evacuated to the Sekarwangi Cibadak Hospital which was not far from the scene. When they arrived at the hospital, the majority of the victims were unconscious and some were half aware.

One of the survivors, Rizal, said that when he and 11 of his colleagues were setting up an internet pole and attaching it to the power grid cable.

"The incident was very fast and I was unconscious and only realized after being given help by the Sekarwangi Hospital medical team," he said.

The victim who is still undergoing treatment is known as Angga. The victim is conscious, but his condition is still weak and must undergo intensive care to restore his health, especially the burns he suffered.

The incident of 12 internet installation officers who were electrocuted to date is still under investigation by the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim. The police have also conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP) and are asking for information from a number of witnesses including survivors.
