Gibran Still Has The Status Of 'Bull Cadre', Gerindra Will Communicate With PDIP

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, emphasized that Rapimnas did not discuss the status of Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is still a PDIP cadre. Rapimnas, said Dasco, only discussed who the vice presidential candidate will be who will accompany the General Chair of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election.

"Earlier we did not discuss it, we discussed presidential and vice presidential candidates. The vice presidential candidates can come from anywhere, so that the existing mechanisms we will submit will be in accordance with the provisions," said Dasco at The Darmawangsa, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Monday, October 23.

Dasco said the Gerindra Party would communicate with PDIP regarding Gibran as Prabowo's vice presidential candidate.

"Yes, we will communicate with the matter later," he said.

Meanwhile, he continued, Gerindra has not communicated this to PDIP because it is still focused on completing the requirements to register the vice presidential candidate with the KPU.

"(It is preparing, red) a permit to run as a presidential candidate in accordance with the results of the determination of the election requirements, it has been submitted and thank God it has been approved. Then also a leave permit, I see that there are several certain dates he has asked for leave permission and has also been submitted," he explained.

Dasco also revealed that there will be an additional political party in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), namely the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) which is currently led by the youngest son of President Joko Widodo, Kaesang Pangarep.

"God willing, tomorrow there will be one party (joining), tomorrow we will be invited to the PSI event," he said.

Regarding the Prabowo-Gibran pair attending, Dasco admitted that he did not know. But what is clear, he said, is that the general chairman will attend the PSI event tomorrow night.

"(Gibran) was asked to the committee, yes, we have not received any information. (But) the plan, Pak Prabowo will attend," he concluded.
