BMKG Asks Residents To Beware Of 10 Districts In Bali To Beware Of Drought

DENPASAR - Center for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) Region III Denpasar asked the public to be aware of 10 sub-districts in Bali that are in the drought alert category because there is no rain in a row for 94-100 days.

The Coordinator for Data and Information for BBMKG Region III Denpasar I Nyoman Gede Wiryajaya in Denpasar, Saturday, explained that the 10 sub-districts are mostly in Buleleng Regency.

The 10 sub-districts are Buleleng Regency in Gerokgak, Buleleng, Sawan, and Kubu Addedan Districts, Karangasem Regency in Kubu District which is 100 days without rain, Badung Regency in Kuta, North Kuta, and South Kuta Districts, as well as Denpasar City and Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency.

His party made observations regarding the potential for drought per 10 days or 10 bases and updated on October 30, 2023.

Even so, several other areas are expected to have the potential to rain on October 21-31, 2023 in Pekutat District, Jembrana Regency, Tabanan Regency in Pupuan, Penebel, and Selemadeg Districts.

In the period 1-10 November 2023, it is estimated that there will be a transition from dry to rainy in most parts of Bali.

Denpasar BBMKG estimates that the peak of the rainy season in Bali will occur in January 2024 with rainfall estimated in the range of 500-600 millimeters per month so it is necessary to be aware of the impact of hydrometeorological disasters, including floods and landslides.

Only one season zone, namely the southern Karangasem, is expected to peak the rainy season in February 2024.

Denpasar BBMKG appealed to the public to wisely consume water, protect themselves from potential exposure to extreme ultraviolet rays using sunscreen, and keep the body well hydrated.
