The TNI Joint Team Successfully Evacuated 21 Residents From The KST Massacre In Yahukimo Papua

JAKARTA - Pascape was killed by the Papuan Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) with 7 victims killed in action in Kali Ei Yahukimo Regency. The Joint Team pursued and searched and succeeded in evacuating 21 residents.

The operation was led by Major HR from the Battalion 7 Marines and Kodim 1715/YHK under the control of the Yonmar 7 Task Force, on Wednesday, October 18.

Kapuspen TNI Admiral TNI Julius Widjojono stated that the joint personnel led by Major HR, both from the TNI and Polri elements, immediately left for the Kali Ei region.

Arriving at the Kali Kolop Mobile Brigade Post, the TNI-Polri Joint Team coordinated the situation and conditions in the Kali Ei region,

"The Joint Team moved towards Kali Ei and Kali Kuk to ensure the existence of people who survived the KST massacre," said Julius in his statement, Thursday, October 19.

From reports in the field, the joint TNI team managed to monitor the movement of KST, monitored by approximately 20 Papuan KSTs carrying 5 weapons, 2 Sniper and SS1 organic weapons and 3 homemade weapons, they moved away towards the mountains.

The TNI-Polri Joint Team is trying to continue to move to carry out the pursuit towards the emergence of the Papuan KST, but KST continues to move further away.

Furthermore, Kapuspen TNI said that the TNI will always help the community and continue to create a sense of security in Papua.

"The results of the investigation, the TNI-Polri Joint Team succeeded in evacuating 21 frightened people who managed to escape the massacre by KST Papua on October 16, 2023," he explained.

Residents who were rescued from the KST massacre really needed help. Their condition is generally still traumatized by the incident, because they saw several of their colleagues died at the hands of the KST.

Furthermore, the Joint Team moved from Kali Ei to Kodim 1715/YHK with 21 non-OAP people who were successfully evacuated.

"Residents who were successfully evacuated were handed over by the Joint Team to Kodim 1715/YHK for security and further recovery measures." added Julius.

Previously, it was reported that on Monday (16/10) a total of 30 Papuan KSTs attacked illegal gold mining areas in Kali Ei, Mosom Duba Village, Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.

Seven residents who were gold collectors were killed, and other community members tried to save themselves. This KST is the leader of Asbak Koranue, part of the Egianus Kogoya group.
