JAKARTA - Heru Budi Hartono's position as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta has been extended by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) to lead Jakarta for the next year.
Responding to this, the Chairman of Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Iman Satria, asked Heru to improve his communication pattern, especially to council members as partners of the DKI Provincial Government.
"My hope is that Mr. Heru must be more communicative, to the council. Especially with the leadership, be it the leadership of the commission, the leadership of the faction, so that our relationship can be better," said Iman to reporters, Wednesday, October 18.
Iman understands Heru's lack of direct communication to the DPRD due to his busy schedule of two positions, namely the Acting Governor of DKI as well as the Head of the Presidential Secretariat.
"It's a bit difficult, maybe because he's busy because he's also at the Palace, and he's also here. I've tried to ask (meet) not to get time," said Iman.
However, with the extension of the position until October 16, 2024, Heru is expected to build more optimal communication and coordination with the DKI DPRD.
"Yes, I hope that communication can be even better and there is time for us," he added.
Heru was officially inaugurated as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Sasana Bhakti Praja, the Ministry of Home Affairs office. Heru replaces the previous Governor of DKI, Anies Baswedan.
The inauguration was carried out based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 100/P of 2022 concerning the Ratification of the Dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017-2022 Term of Office and the Appointment of Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.
Referring to Article 8 paragraph 1 of the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 4 of 2023 concerning Acting Governor, Acting Regent, and Acting Mayor, the Acting Governor's term of office is only one year and can be extended the following year with the same person or different.
On Monday, October 16, the Ministry of Home Affairs officially extended Heru's term of office in Jakarta for one year. Heru admitted that he was given a mandate by the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian to work better.
"Yes, I (have) received a certificate (extended), yes, usually years. A year is extended. The message (from Tito) is good work," Heru told reporters.
