JAKARTA - Head of the Election Winning Body (Bapilu) Golkar Nusron Wahid responded to the news that said the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, would join the party bearing the banyan tree symbol.
Nusron said his party was not in a position to force Gibran to join. However, he said, the decision was completely submitted to President Jokowi's eldest son.
"Everything is completely handed over by Mas Gibran. I am sure he knows which is the best step for the nation and state," said Nusron when confirmed, Tuesday, October 17.
The member of Commission VI of the DPR RI also believes that Gibran will definitely decide the best for his future political steps.
"I'm sure he knows the best steps," said Nusron.
Nevertheless, Nusron emphasized that the most important thing for his party was the victory of the Presidential Decree of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election.
"For us, the important thing is that Pak Prabowo wins in a polite and elegant way," he said.
