Cambuk Sentence, Acting Regent Of Nagan Raya: No More ASN Affected

SUKA MAKMUE - Fitriany Farhas, Acting Regent of Nagan Raya, hopes that there will be no more state civil servants, honorary employees and people in his area who have to undergo caning in public for violating the application of Islamic law.

"In the future, it is hoped that violations of the jinayat law will not happen again because of the success of an area in handling caning, not from the many cases, but from the lack of cases that occurred," said Fitriany Farhas in Suka Makmue, Saturday.

He conveyed this regarding the public caning of an ASN and a contract employee within the Nagan Raya Regency Government which was centered in the courtyard of the Giok Mosque, Suka Makmue Office Complex.

The convicts who underwent the execution of the caning were respectively FD, an ASN Nagan Raya Regency Government, Aceh, with a caning decision of nine times cut the prison term according to the decision of the Syar'iyah Suka Makmue Court Number: 4/JN/2023/MS.SKM.

Then the second convict is ZA, an honorary employee at the Nagan Raya Regency Government health institution, Aceh, with the decision of the Syar'iyah Suka Makmue Court Number: 5/JN/2023/MS.SKM which sentenced him to nine lashes.

Fitriany said the caning was a repressive act of the Islamic Sharia crime in Aceh as regulated in Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law.

He said the qanun regulates several criminal acts (jalinah), such as liquor (khamar), gambling (maisir), together for couples who are not muhrim (kalawat), making out (ikhtilath), adultery, sexual harassment, rape, slander of adultery without witnesses (kadzaf), liwath (gay), and lesbian (usahaqah).

"This caning is not only a punishment for perpetrators to provide a deterrent effect, but also as education, warnings and social control effects for the community so as not to violate Qanun Jinayat," he added.

With the execution of caning in public, it is hoped that it will serve as a form of reflection for the community and all ASN.

"Especially for the caning executed so that they feel ashamed for their actions and immediately repent to Allah SWT and do not repeat their actions," he said.

Fitriany added that the purpose of presenting all heads of work units for district officials in the Nagan Raya Regency Government because the convict who was sentenced to caning was one of the civil servants in the local area.

"The head of the service must evaluate the supervision of the violation of the code of ethics committed by his subordinates without exception, there is no mercy, and for me there is no selective logging or whoever he is, we must still be sanctioned if he violates," he explained as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 14,

Fitriany also invited the people in his area to jointly enforce Islamic law in Nagan Raya.

"Let's echo together with efforts to prevent and eradicate the actions of the calwat so as to create a brilliant atmosphere and Islamic civilization in our district," he said.
