Mojokerto Tisu Factory Fire Kills One Worker

JAKARTA - The fire at the PT Sun Paper Source (SPS) tissue factory in Ngoro, Mojokerto, East Java killed a worker named Jon Rahman, a factory production department who allegedly experienced shortness of breath while helping to extinguish the fire.

Kapolsek Ngoro Kompol Imam Mahmudi said one person died suspected of experiencing shortness of breath.

He said the location of the fire entered Sukanyar Village, Ngoro District, which borders Pungging District and Ngoro, Mojokerto Regency.

Imam explained that the victim allegedly died on the way to Mawaddah Medika Hospital, Ngoro, Mojokerto, whose body was then transferred to Prof dr Soekandar Hospital, Mojosari for relocation.

"The victim's family refused to be autopsied, the family asked to be sent directly to Palembang where he came from," he said.

In addition to the victim who died in the incident, the security guard also suffered injuries to his hands.

"The factory's security guard was hit by broken glass while helping to extinguish the fire. Only minor injuries," he said.

Previously, the tissue factory PT Sun Paper Source in Sukanyar Village, Ngoro District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java experienced a severe fire Thursday at around 10.17 WIB.

Kapolsek Ngoro, Kompol Imam Mahmudi in Mojokerto said it was still unclear what caused the fire that hit this tissue factory.

The Mojokerto Regency BPBD PMK team is still doing the blackout.
