KPU Will Explain Procedures For Registration Of Presidential Candidates To Political Parties

Chairman of the KPU Hasyim Asy'ari said that his party would explain the procedures for preparing for the registration of presidential candidates (readpres) and the prospective vice presidential candidate (readwapres) in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres), to political parties.

The KPU will invite political parties participating in the election to socialize the stages of registration for presidential candidates and prospective vice presidential candidates to political parties on Thursday (12/10).

"Tomorrow (Thursday) we will invite all political parties to explain the stage," said Hasyim, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 11.

The registration period for the presidential/readwapres will be held on October 19-25, 2023. This week the KPU will coordinate with a team of doctors who will check the health of prospective candidates proposed by the political parties participating in the election.

"We are also coordinating with hospitals that will be designated as locations for health checks for prospective candidates," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding internal readiness, the KPU stated that it was ready because the regulations governing these activities had been made.

Hasyim said that he had signed a KPU regulation regarding the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates, the regulation had been completed and was legally used.

"Now it's just a matter of enacting it at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," he said.
