COD Handpone Using Counterfeit Money, Man In Tangerang Arrested By Police

TANGERANG - The police arrested a man with the initials S (23) in front of Bhakti Asih Hospital, Karang Tengah. He was arrested for buying a cellphone using counterfeit money.

The Head of the Ciledug Police, AKP Diorisha Suryo, explained that the perpetrators launched their actions on Tuesday, October 3.

S bought a cellphone by Cash On Delivery (COD). At the time of payment, the victim realized that the money he received turned out to be fake. Feeling cheated and harmed, the victim reported to the Ciledug Police.

"When cash payments were made, the victim realized that the money given was fake and immediately reported it to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ciledug Police," Diorisha said in a statement seen on Monday, October 9.

After conducting an investigation, the police arrested the alleged perpetrator. The evidence found from S's hand was counterfeit money worth Rp950 thousand, in the form of Rp50 thousand denominations of 19 pieces.

Diorisha also said that if S got the counterfeit money from someone else. Therefore, the police confirmed that they would hunt down other perpetrators involved in the circulation of counterfeit money.

"Currently, we (the police) are still hunting for the other perpetrators involved in the circulation of the counterfeit money," he said.

S has been taken to the Ciledug Police for further action.

"To account for his actions. Currently, we are holding the perpetrators for further legal proceedings and examinations," he concluded.
