JAKARTA - Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas responded casually to the statement by the Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) who called himself a buzzer.

This is related to the statement of the Minister of Religion who previously asked the public not to choose a leader who carried out religious politicization, referring to the 2017 DKI Pilgub. Responding to the response, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil said that it does not matter if he is called a buzzer. He compared humans with empty books, which could be given various judgments or appreciations from others. "It's okay to say I'm buzzer, so it's up to say what you want to say. We have the right to give appreciation or judge ourselves. We are empty books that can be scribbled on, it's up to what people want to say," said Minister of Religion Yaqut in his statement, Friday, October 6. Yaqut also emphasized that despite being called buzzer, his principles and beliefs remain unchanged. In addition, Minister of Religion Yaqut revealed that there has been no official meeting with the General Chair of PKB, Cak Imin. Even so, he explained that maintaining good communication with a number of administrators in the PKB. "There is no call, so there is no meeting (with Cak Imin, ed). My friends at PKB still communicate well, I still communicate with them even though they were not invited to the meeting. Through WhatsApp messages and telephones are still in communication," Yaqut added.

Previously, Cak Imin responded to Yaqut Cholil Qoumas' statement by calling it a " buzzer". Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid or Gus Jazil also said that his party would take disciplinary steps against Gus Yaqut. We certainly have prepared disciplinary measures.
