Allegedly Depression, Man Hangs On Tree Then Suicide Jumps Into Cengkareng River

JAKARTA - A man named Ahmad Rizky (42) was desperate to commit suicide by throwing his body into the flow of Cengkareng Drain River, Perum Grisenda, Pantai Indah Kapuk, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta.

According to witnesses, before throwing himself, the victim, who was suspected of having depression, was hanging on a tree and then finally jumped into the Cengkareng Drain River.

Since the victim committed suicide on Tuesday night, October 3, the body of the victim has only been found in Cengkareng Drain River, West Jakarta on Wednesday, October 4.

The victim's body was found by the joint SAR team after a search was carried out using a rubber boat.

"The victim was found and evacuated to the RSCM for further processing. The discovery of the victim's body was carried out by searching at two location points," said the Commander of the Rescue Team for the Jakarta SAR Office, Ahmad Nur Iman when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, October 4.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations of the Jakarta SAR Office, Ramli Prasetyo, added that the first team made an effort to search using rubber boats and anchor around the scene.

"The second team carried out visual search efforts by land up to 1 km from the scene," he added.

Meanwhile, parties involved in the search for victims include the Jakarta SAR Office, Penjaringan Police, DKI Jakarta BPBD, DKI Jakarta PPSU, MTA SAR, CAT Rescue, Imani Care and the local community.
