JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, denied that his party was waiting for the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the minimum age limit lawsuit for presidential and vice presidential candidates to be 35 years old, to announce Prabowo Subianto's companion. The reason is that the lawsuit was alleged to pass President Joko Widodo's eldest son (Jokowi) Gibran Rakabuming Raka as vice presidential candidate. Gerindra is also said to be probing Gibran to become Prabowo's partner. According to Dasco, Prabowo's vice presidential candidate has not been announced because he is still waiting for the right moment. He ensured that there was already a candidate when the registration was opened by the Indonesian KPU. The deputy chairman of the DPR emphasized that there is no obligation from the KPU for political parties to register their presidential and vice-presidential candidates early. Because Dasco said, registration of presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the KPU starts on 19-25 October 2023.
