Ganjar's Vice Presidential Exchange, PPP 'Pede' Sandiaga's Name Is Still Above Mahfud MD And Khofifah

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) is confident, aka the pede level of election of the Chairman of the Bappilu DPP PPP Sandiaga Uno is still above the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD and the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa as candidates for vice presidential assistance to Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.

"I think that in the coalition the names of Mr. Sandi are still above (Mahfud and Khofifah)," said PPP Deputy General Chair Amir Uskara, Monday, October 2.

However, Amir said his party still respects the final decision of the political party leaders regarding Ganjar's future vice presidential candidate.

"It's just that we don't know yet. We can't say for sure yet," he said.

According to him, any possibility could occur in politics before the coalition registers its presidential and vice-presidential pairs with the KPU on October 19, 2023.

"Everything can be done. If Mrs. Megawati said this is like dance music, this dance music, the music is still playing. The couple can still change. Until the music stops, we just know, oh this is the partner," said Amir.

Previously, the Chairman of the Bappilu DPP PPP Sandiaga Uno, admitted that there was no problem if the opportunity to pair up with Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election was smaller because he competed with Mahfud MD and Khofifah. According to him, everything depends on the intentions of each figure who is nominated.

"Yes, again, it's 'innamal a'mal binniyat' (Everything depends on the intention, ed). So everything starts with the intention," said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga also fully submitted the decision regarding the vice presidential candidate to the PPP leadership. According to him, there are steps that will be taken by the party with three weeks of determination from the nomination for the vice presidential candidate.

"PPP encourages me to focus on service, and in my opinion whoever the figures who appear are the nation's best sons and daughters," he said.

"I am sami 'na waatho'na. I leave it to the PPP leaders completely, sami 'na waatho'na. But, I will always support Pak Ganjar," he continued.
