PPP Says Jokowi's Whisper To Ganjar Signals Support In The 2024 Presidential Election

PPP spokesman Achmad Baidowi also commented on President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who whispered about food sovereignty to Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate at the PDIP National Working Meeting yesterday. According to him, the whispers meant that Jokowi was paying special attention to the nomination of Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election. "At the same time, it shows Jokowi's belief that Ganjar will be able to continue the politics of food sovereignty which is also Jokowi's program," Baidowi told reporters, Saturday, September 30.

The chairman of the PPP DPP assessed that the closeness of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri, Jokowi, and Ganjar at the National Working Meeting showed that the relationship between the three figures was fine, unlike those assumed by a number of circles.

The man who is familiarly called Awiek also appreciated Megawati's warm welcome to Plt Ketum PPP Muhammad Mardiono. According to him, this indicates the harmony of relations between the two political parties who have a long history in the national political arena. He hopes that Megawati will choose the Chairman of the Bappilu PPP who is also the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno as the vice presidential candidate to accompany Ganjar Pranowo. "Hopefully this will be a signal that Ganjar's vice presidential candidate is a PPP cadre, namely Sandiaga Uno," said Awiek.

Previously, President Jokowi admitted that he had whispered to Ganjar asking the former governor of Central Java to immediately step on the gas to deal with food problems if he was elected as the 8th president of the Republic of Indonesia later.

"Earlier I whispered to him. 'Sir, after being inaugurated, the next day immediately entered food sovereignty', we don't have to take long, the plan is prepared now, once inaugurated tomorrow, we will immediately enter the work of food sovereignty so that food self-sufficiency, food security, food sovereignty, we really have it," Jokowi said in his remarks at the PDIP National Working Meeting IV at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday, September 29.

Jokowi admitted that he was horrified by all countries that put the brakes on exporting their wheat, rice and sugar. Therefore, he asked the nation's future leaders to have a vision and mission to solve this food problem.

"In the next five years, in the next 10 years, we must have a tactical vision, not a mission vision that is too good in the clouds, but a tactical vision, a detailed work plan, we must have and I am sure that Pak Ganjar is able to solve this," said Jokowi.
