Bekasi Regency Government Demolished Dozens of Illegal Buildings and Stalls Along Kalimalang Inspection

BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java, dismantled dozens of illegal buildings to dim stalls that stood along Jalan Inspeksi Kalimalang, Hegarmukti Village, Central Cikarang District.

"Today's demolition after we have given a socialization letter three times," said Head of the Bekasi Regency Civil Service Police Unit Surya Wijaya confirmed at the demolition site, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, September 27.

The demolition of the illegal building involved joint officers from the Civil Service Police Unit, the Transportation Service, the Fire Department, and elements of the Bekasi Metropolitan Police and Kodim 0509 Bekasi Regency.

The demolition point starts from the shoulder area of the road on Jalan Pasar Tegal Danas to Kampung Paparean Cilampayan, Bekasi Regency, which borders Karawang Regency.

"The demolition area is about 150 meters from the Tegal Danas Market intersection up to 870 meters long to the Karawang Regency border," said Surya.

He explained that this demolition activity was in order to enforce regional regulations related to the prohibition of building buildings on state land as well as regarding the plan for road widening work.

The work is to facilitate the mobility of road users as an effort by the local government to complete the widening of infrastructure along the Kalimalang Inspection Road from the Bekasi City to Karawang Regency limits.

The dismantling of illegal unlicensed buildings is conducive. In fact, most building owners took the initiative to dismantle their own stalls.

"We have had previous meetings and coordinated with the Cipta Karya, Bina Marga, PJT II, sub-district heads, to local village officials, including the police and the TNI. Thank God it went safely, conducive," said Surya.
