Menpora Dito Supports The Implementation Of The 2023 Rock Climbing Asian Qualification In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo fully supports the implementation of the Asian Rock Climbing Qualification in Jakarta in November 2023. The qualification will later compete for tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"We are committed to organizing the Asian Rock Climbing Qualification later. We support how athletes can continue to achieve achievements," said Menpora Dito when receiving FPTI Chairman Yenny Wahid at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 22.

FPTI Chairman Yenny Wahid conveyed that the Asia Rock Climbing Qualification event will be held at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK). He expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the government in this implementation.

"Apresiasi dukungan pemerintah selama ini, termasuk juga Kemenpora yang selama ini telah memberikan dukungan penuh sehingga kita berhasil meraih prestasi maksimal," ujarnya.

Yenny is optimistic that FPTI can pass the athletes again to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Previously, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi had successfully qualified for the Paris Olympics after winning gold for the 2023 Rock Climbing World Cup in Bern, Switzerland.

"Well, there is a ticket to the Olympics and we are optimistic that our athletes can qualify. Then there will also be Olympic Qualification in Paris in the March-May 2024 period, we are also targeting to get tickets to the Olympics. Please pray and support," explained Yenny.

In addition, Yenny also conveyed the readiness of rock climbing athletes at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. He also believes that Red and White rock climbing athletes can achieve achievements. We are ready to fight in the Asian Games and achieve achievements," he concluded.
