DPR Proud Of Prosperous Dwi Brings RI To Be The First ASEAN Country To Win The 2023 Asian Games Gold

Shooting athlete Muhammad Sejahtera Dwi Putra won his second gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games Hangzhou/NOC Indonesia.

JAKARTA - Commission X DPR RI appreciates the achievements of athletes shooting Muhammad Sejahtera Dwi Putra who managed to donate the first gold medal for the red and white contingent at the 2023 Asian Games. This achievement also makes Indonesia the first ASEAN country to win gold in this prestigious Asian sports competition this year.

"With the first gold medal from shooting in the early days of the 2023 Asian Games, it will encourage and motivate other sports athletes to excel," said Member of Commission X DPR RI, Andreas Hugo Paraira, Tuesday, September 26.

The shooting athlete Muhammad Sejahtera Dwi Putra or who is familiarly called Tera won the first gold medal for the Indonesian contingent in the 2023 Asian Games which was held in Hangzhou, China. Tera achieved this achievement after scoring the highest score in the men's individual target 10 meters.

Tera also contributed to the victory of the Indonesian team in the 10 meter running team target. The Indonesian team consisting of Tera, Akbar Muhammad Badri, and Julio Irfandi won a bronze medal with a total record of 1,667.

As of 15.25 WIB today, Indonesia is ranked 6th in the medal standings at the 2023 Asian Games with a total of 9 medals, namely 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 5 bronze medals. Andreas said the achievement was a valuable asset for Indonesia's success at the 2023 Asian Games.

"This is just the beginning, which is well presented by our outstanding athletes," he said.

"Of course, all Indonesian people hope that the Garuda contingent can continue to sing the anthem Indonesia Raya and fly the Red and White flag in the highest position on the 2023 Asian Games podium in Hangzhou," Andreas continued.

The legislator from the NTT I electoral district said that Indonesia's success at the beginning of the 2023 Asian Games was proof of the high ability and dedication possessed by the country's proud athletes. Andreas also said that the ability of the Indonesian contingent was not inferior to other Asian countries.

"They have shown that with hard work, determination, and tireless fighting spirit, everything is possible," he said.

"This victory is also an inspiration for the younger generation of Indonesia to dream, work hard, and achieve high achievements in any field they participate in," Andreas continued.

Commission X of the House of Representatives in charge of youth and sports affairs is also said to continue to support efforts to improve the achievements of Indonesian athletes. Andreas encouraged the Government to be serious in coaching athletes in all sports.

"This achievement reminds of the importance of sustainable coaching and support for Indonesia's athletes who excel," he said.

Andreas added, there are many potential national seeds spread across various sports fields. The state is obliged to hone the talents of athletes for the good name of Indonesia in the world arena.

Deeper attention must be given in creating an environment that supports the development of athletes. This includes improving sports facilities, better training programs, as well as special attention to aspects of the welfare and career development of athletes, "said Andreas.
