JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid decided to leave his position. He will focus on being the Head of the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
"I do this to uphold my commitment to maintaining good neutrality and governance," said Arsjad in a written statement received by reporters on Tuesday, September 26.
This decision was also taken for his position as President Director of PT Indika Energy Tbk. He will effectively work as team leader as of Wednesday, September 27 tomorrow.
Arsjad admitted that he had received the blessing of those around him. In the future, he is ready to win Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election because he wants to contribute to the progress of the country.
"I want to ensure that the long-term agendas in the context of the economy and investment that have been promoted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and his predecessors can be carried out well," he said.
"Please pray and bless, as well as support for this assignment. I hope we can continue to prioritize national peace and unity in order to create a conducive environment for development," continued Arsjad.
Previously, Arsjad had attended the inaugural meeting of TPN Ganjar Pranowo on Wednesday, September 13. However, he did not participate in the activity until it was completed because there was another activity.
In this regard, the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said Arsjad still had to complete his work before focusing on winning Ganjar. Among them are carrying out his duties as Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the president director of the company that is listed on the stock exchange.
