Prabowo's Story About SBY From Cadets To Become President At The Declaration Moment Of A Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto reviewed the story of the Chairman of the Democratic Party High Council (MTP) Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) from time to time as an Akabri cadet to serving as President of the Republic of Indonesia for two terms.

According to Prabowo, while in politics he and SBY were not much different from when they were both young.

This was conveyed by Prabowo after being declared as a presidential candidate who was promoted in the 2024 presidential election at the Democratic Party Rapimnas at the JCC, Thursday, September 21.

"We both have the same value, we are trained in the same place, in the non-the same valley, we are trained by the 45th generation, the highest generation of freedoms, the most brilliant generation of our nation, they have trained us, because our value is the same," said Prabowo.

Prabowo also praised the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), who has the potential to become a leader of the nation in the future.

"When I met Pak SBY in Pacitan, I said, 'Mr. SBY brother AHY is indeed the son of biology, father, but for me AHY is an asset of the Indonesian nation', and as a former commander, our former commander can quickly see future candidate cadres. If among the Gerindra party they know often what the general chairman says happens, that's how it is," he continued.

Prabowo stated that he and the Forward Indonesia Coalition would continue the development agenda. So that the Minister of Defense is grateful for the additional strength of the Democratic Party which has led Indonesia for 10 years.

"President of SBY and the Democratic Party have been leading Indonesia for ten years from 2004-2014, during his time the Indonesian people managed to achieve very critical results. He has resolved the Aceh problem, he brought peace in Aceh, which for decades disrupted the stability of the Indonesian nation under the presidency of SBY," said Prabowo.

"He faced an extraordinary crisis, he managed to rebuild the areas affected by the most severe tsunami we face, he increased our GDP per capita by almost 4 times from 1000 dollars per capita to 3700 dollars per capita, he lowered the debt to GDP ratio from above 50 percent to below 30 percent, growth on average 5 percent even though he had faced a global economic crisis that had destroyed the economy of other countries, but he has maintained that until now Indonesia has entered the G20," he continued.

According to Prabowo, SBY's success as president created a strong foundation so that President Jokowi can now produce the continuation of the nation's development.

"And we are also now successfully reducing the absolute poverty rate below 10 percent, we have built infrastructure evenly throughout Indonesia not only in Java, we are overcoming a very severe pandemic, we managed very quickly to overcome it, we must continue this success and we will continue on God willing, when we receive the mandate of the Indonesian people," said Prabowo.

Prabowo said Indonesia's challenges in the future were not easy. Because the current tension between the two superpowers makes Indonesia also have to be vigilant. Therefore, Prabowo invites all Indonesian people to unite, unite and be united.

"We must be able to cooperate, this is the hallmark of Indonesian democracy," he said.

Prabowo also stated that together with the Democratic Party and political parties that are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) they want to realize Indonesia's ideals of independence. Namely wanting to eliminate poverty, build a glorious future for the children and grandchildren of the nation's next generation.

"We are determined to eliminate absolute poverty, we are determined to provide good food and nutrition for all Indonesian children, we are determined to provide access to quality education to all Indonesian children, we are determined to carry out the Pancasila economy based on the 1945 Constitution purely and consistently," said Prabowo.

"Seeing the party leader who is with us tonight, I have confidence that we will be able to face challenges in the future of our nation," he concluded.
