The joint SAR team evacuated the body of a 13-year-old girl who died as a result of drowning in the reservoir in the Bukit Panglong area, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri).

Head of the Tanjungpinang SAR Office, Slamet Riyadi, said the body of the victim named Imelda Apriyani was found after the joint SAR team conducted a dive at the point where the victim disappeared, Tuesday, September 19, at around 10.20 WIB.

"The victim was found dead with a distance of 20 meters from the point of fall, then immediately evacuated to the Bintan Hospital," said Slamet Riyadi in Ripri, confiscated by Antara.

Slamet explained that the chronology of the incident began when the victim played on the edge of the former excavation reservoir in Bukit Panglong with his friend Rahma, Monday, September 18, at around 17.00 WIB.

While playing fun, the victim suddenly slipped into the deeper part of the reservoir and immediately drowned and disappeared.

Seeing the incident, friend of the victim Rahma immediately went ashore and asked the local community for help, but the whereabouts of the victim Imelda were not found.

"We received the incident report from residents of Kijang, at around 19.00 WIB. Then, the SAR team was dispatched to the scene of the disappearance of Imelda's victim," said Slamet.

Efforts to search for victims for two days involve joint SAR elements from the Tanjungpinang SAR Office, BPBD, Polsek, Babinsa, firefighters, and PMI Bintan Regency.
