'Hopefully The National Conference Of Alim Ulama And The NU Konbes Will Resume Nahdliyin To Respond To Various Issues'

JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani attended the Alim Ulama National Conference (Munas) and the 2023 Grand Conference (Konbes) Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). He hopes that this activity will produce useful recommendations as a guide for NU residents to face various issues in the community.

The National Conference of Alim Ulama and Konbes NU 2023 was held at the Al-Hamid Islamic Boarding School, Cilangkap, East Jakarta on Monday 18 September. Carrying the theme 'Accompanies the People, Winning the Future', the National Conference of Alim Ulama and the 2023 NU Konbes were opened by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"Hopefully the National Conference of Alim Ulama and the NU 2023 Konbes will produce useful recommendation formulas as a guide for NU residents and the public in responding to religious, national and social issues," said Puan.

This event was also attended by a number of high-ranking state officials, including Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Human Rights Mahfud MD.

Then there were also Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, to Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

At this event, Puan was seen wearing a white veil complete with beige Muslim clothes. While on the podium, she sat flanked by the General Chairperson of the Nahdatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya and the wife of the Fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurahman Wahid (Gus Dur), Sinta Nuriyah Wahid.

The National Conference of Alim Ulama and Konbes 2023 NU itself is the highest forum after the 2023 International Sufi Congress which was held in Pekalongan, Central Java. Puan was also asked to carry out a procession of beating the tambourine as a symbol of opening the event with Jokowi, Gus Yahya and Rais Aam PBNU Miftachul Akhyar.

"I congratulate you on the start of the National Conference and the NU Konbes, hopefully this can provide benchmarks and directions that must be carried out by Nahdliyin in the life of the nation and religion," said the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

At the Alim Ulama National Conference and the NU 2023 Konbes, a number of issues from various commissions will be discussed, including the Bahtsul Masail Maudlu'iyah Commission. This commission relates to the general election (election), namely the presidential election (Pilpres) and the legislative election (Pileg) in 2024.

Furthermore, there is the Bahtsul Commission Masail Qanuniyah which will discuss the five-day school policy and the derivative rules of the Islamic Boarding School Law. Then the Bahtsul Commission Masail Waqi'iyah will discuss the optimization of the Hajj Dam where NU will issue an official stance to encourage the progress of the hajj management system in Indonesia.

In addition, there is also the Organizational Commission which will discuss internal NU conflicts, such as Association Regulations (Perkum). To note, there are five new Perkum and 12 Perkum that will be revised related to the dual position category. Furthermore, the Recommendation Commission will discuss the issue of confiscation of people's land by the state.

Then the last one is the Work Program Commission which will discuss the management of NU hospitals' assets and waqf management within NU. Because NU has a lot of waqf, but there is no good governance.

With the various issues discussed in the 2023 NU Konbes, Puan believes that this will further strengthen NU's efforts to work for the benefit of the people. He also assessed that this was done so that Nahdliyin residents would remain on track and PBNU would continue to work together with the Government to achieve a better future for the people.

"The NU Konbes is also expected to further strengthen NU's inclusive commitment to the life of the nation and state," hoped Puan.

The first woman to serve as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives added that the existence of NU has so far clearly felt the benefits of being a bulwark of Muslim faith. In addition, said Puan, NU has contributed to the Government in carrying out its mandate and for the welfare of the Indonesian people in general.

"The success of the Alim Ulama National Conference and the NU Konbes this year can provide benchmarks and directions that must be carried out in national and religious life which will be a reflection of the state," explained Bung Karno's grandson.

Furthermore, Puan mentioned the NU which has always consistently fought for the benefit of the people from the past until now. According to him, this cannot be separated from the example shown by NU figures at the top and regional levels.

"I appreciate NU's achievements and plans to win the future as conveyed by the Head of PBNU in his speech," said Puan.

"Hopefully the mutual cooperation between PBNU, the government, the DPR, and other elements of the nation can create prosperity for the nation and state," he continued.

On the other hand, Puan hopes that NU will continue to be committed to supporting the general election process that prioritizes a sense of peace and peace for the community in welcoming the 2024 democratic party.

"As one of the largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia, NU's involvement in maintaining peaceful, peaceful and happy elections for the community will play a major role in the success of the 2024 General Election," said Puan.

"Of course, this role can also be interpreted that NU participates in creating prosperity and peace for our beloved nation," he continued.

In the National Conference of Alim Ulama and the NU 2023 Konbes, it was seen that the participants welcomed Puan's enthusiastic presence. Not a few invited and asked Puan to take a photo together.
