Woman From Spain Climbing Mount Merapi Illegal Hiportemia Rescued By BTNGM Boyolali

YOGYAKARTA - A Spaniard who was reported to have experienced hypothermia while climbing Mount Merapi via Boyolali Regency was found safe.

The foreign national (WNA) named Jacinto Cornejo Energy Del Carmen, was successfully evacuated down from Mount Merapi and then an examination was carried out by the Mount Merapi National Park Team (BTNGM) Selo Boyolali.

The female climber was successfully evacuated on Thursday, September 14 at 12.00 WIB. Jacinto was then taken by a joint team to the BTNGM Selo Boyolali Office.

According to BTNGM officer, Jacinto is an illegal climber. He did the climbing of not permission to the officer.

Head of the TNGM Administration Sub-Division of Yogyakarta Ahmadi added that Jacinto also did not pay attention to the ban on climbing Mount Merapi. Where Mount Merapi is currently still at level three alert.

Jacinto, after being examined by officers, was then asked to make a statement that he did not repeat the climb again.
