This European Electric Car Is Only Priced at Rp100 Million with a Travel Distance of 320 Km

JAKARTA - Citroen officially introduced the latest e-C3X with a number of updates, ranging from design refreshes, as well as improved features inside the cabin. This compact electric crossover is now available with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, making the initial purchase price more affordable.

The program allows consumers to buy vehicles without having to own the battery directly. Through the BaaS scheme, customers can buy vehicles at a lower ex-showroom price, while the cost of using the battery is paid separately through a subscription package based on mileage.

Launching from Gaadiwaadi, Friday, June 19, Citroen assessed that this strategy could expand public access to electric vehicles while providing more predictable operating costs. The introductory price of the e-C3X is priced starting at 6.89 lakh rupees, or around Rp130 million with a battery usage cost of 2.26 rupees per kilometer.

Meanwhile, its regular ex-showroom price reaches 10.25 lakh rupees or around Rp194 million. In terms of appearance, the Citroen e-C3X carries a crossover character combined with compact dimensions.

The car is equipped with LED headlights, separate LED daytime running lights, front fog lights, the latest X emblem, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, front and rear underbody protection, automatic folding electric mirrors, and a ground clearance of 170 mm.

The manufacturer also claims that the e-C3X has a turning radius of only 4.98 meters which supports ease of maneuvering in urban areas. The typical Citroen suspension and specially designed seats are still maintained to provide driving comfort.

As a pure electric vehicle, the e-C3X offers a driving experience with minimal vibration and almost no noise. The cabin cooling system has also been improved to be able to work more efficiently in the face of extreme heat.

Entering the cabin, the new feel is immediately visible through the use of the Electric Blu dashboard theme and the choice of updated seat material. Depending on the variant chosen, consumers can get a two-tone synthetic leather seat with a blue accent or fabric upholstery.

In the middle of the dashboard is a 10.25-inch touchscreen that has supported Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly. The seven-inch TFT digital instrument panel also gets a special graphic display for electric vehicles with a blue touch.

Other features include wireless phone charging, an electrochromic center mirror, and Connected Car 2.0 technology that offers more than 40 remote control functions. For consumers who want additional features, Citroen provides a JBL premium audio package and a front-rear dashcam system.

The dashcam is integrated with various predictive safety functions such as lane departure warnings, monitoring the distance of vehicles in front, to notifications of the presence of pedestrians or vulnerable road users. The e-C3X body structure is also claimed to use a combination of high-strength steel and ultra-high-strength steel to increase passenger protection.

The standard safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX, automatic speed-based door locking, high-speed warning system, and special protection for the battery. The position of the battery placed on the floor of the vehicle also helps lower the center of gravity so that stability when maneuvering can be increased.

The French manufacturer equips it with an electric motor that can spray 57 PS of power and 143 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the battery can travel 320 km with a charging time from 10 to 80 percent in 57 minutes.

Citroen offers six exterior color options for the e-C3X, namely Steel Grey, Cosmo Blue, Perla Nera Black, Garnet Red, and Deep Forest Green. Meanwhile, the interior theme is available in several combinations, including the Electric Blu dashboard with two-tone blue-accented synthetic leather seats for the Shine and Live-O variants, as well as the Electric Blu dashboard with black fabric seats on the Live variant.
