Drs. H. Muhammad Prasetyo, S. H., M. H. (born May 9, 1947) is the Attorney General who took office on November 20, 2014. Previously, he was a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Party faction for the 2014-2019 period representing the Election Area of Central Java II which covers the regions of Kudus, Jepara, and Demak Regencies. Prasetyo also served as Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes (Japindum) and Director of Execution and Examination Legal Efforts at the Indonesian Attorney General's Office in 2005-2026.

Political Career

After leaving the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, Prasetyo penetrated the political world by becoming a cadre of the National Democratic Party. He was elected as a member of the DPR for the 2014-2019 period representing the Central Java II electoral district with 51.999 votes and sat on Commission III. However, along with his appointment as Attorney General, he resigned from the DPR RI and the NasDem Party on November 20, 2014.
