Search For Missing Fishermen In Cianjur Waters, SAR Expands Tracking Areas As Far As 8 Km

The joint SAR team expanded the tracking area as far as 8 kilometers in the search for missing fishermen to sink in the waters south of Cianjur, West Java (West Java). This effort was carried out after 3 days of fruitless search operations.

The Head of the Cianjur Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Asep Sukma Wijaya, said the joint SAR team was still focused on searching in the middle of the sea.

"Entering the third day, the team has not yet received a sign of the victim's whereabouts on behalf of Maman (45), a fisherman from Sukabumi Regency who was reported missing and drowned by a net while looking for fish on the south coast of Cianjur, Monday (11 September)," he said when contacted, Wednesday, September 13, was confiscated by Antara.

Asep hopes that the victim can be found before the maximum limit of the search operation standard (SOP) for seven days.

To speed up, his party involved dozens of fishermen on the south coast who wanted to go to sea and return to sea to help search for the victim's body, they could quickly be found according to the family's expectations so that it could be properly buried.

"We are trying before the expiration time limit for the victim's body can be found and buried properly according to the wishes of the family who have received the situation," he said.

Previously, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cianjur Regency received a report that a fisherman from Sukabumi Regency on behalf of Maman had drowned in the waters of the southern coast of Cianjur, Monday, September 11.

As of Monday evening, the joint SAR team was still searching for the victim who was reported missing and drowned while searching for fish using a net with his brother on the edge of Cikole beach, Cidaun District, allegedly the victim was dragged into the middle of the sea and drowned in the waves.

His brother, who found this, had tried to find the victim's body but did not produce any results, so he reported this to local residents and continued to the Cidaun Police and Cianjur BPBD.

The joint SAR team consisted of volunteers and officers from the Cianjur BPBD, Bandung SAR, TNI/Polri assisted by local residents to conduct a search by conducting a beach comb and the middle of the sea where the victim was reported to be seen for the last time.
