SUKABUMI - Joint firefighters are still trying to extinguish forest fires in Puncak Habibie Cipembang, precisely in Pasirbaru Village, Cisolok District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"Until now, the fire is still spreading, because in the location there are many tree branches that are dry due to the long dry impact. It is suspected that the fire originated from the residents' land," said Cisolok District Disaster Management Officer (P2BK), Andri Firmansah, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 12.

According to Andri, the cause of the forest and land fires in Cisolok District is not yet known. In addition, joint firefighters had difficulty extinguishing the fire, because access to the location could not be penetrated by fire engines.

Dozens of joint officers were deployed to extinguish the fire that burned the Puncak Habibie forest area and land owned by residents. The fire that burned the residents' land has been successfully extinguished, but for forest areas there are still some points that have not been extinguished.

Then, for the area of land and forests affected by the fire, it is still under the calculation of his party. Anticipation of the fire again spread to the residents' land, the fire fighting team was still at the location.

"In this incident there were no injuries or fatalities and losses are still being calculated. The personnel deployed came from elements of the TNI, Polri, Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP) and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency who were assisted by volunteers and local residents," he also said.

Andri appealed to the community, cultivators and visitors not to carry out activities that could potentially cause fires, such as burning land or garbage and not throwing cigarette butts carelessly.
