The Issue Of Meeting With PDIP, Democrats Reveal There Is No Plan For SBY To Meet Megawati

The Head of BPOKK of the Democratic Party, Herman Khaeron, revealed that to this day there is no plan for the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) to meet with the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri. This was conveyed by Herman following the issue that the Democrats would join the PDIP to support Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in 2024. Herman actually said that the Democrats were also exploring communication with the coalition supporting Prabowo Subianto. "Not yet, I don't think so far, but communication continues to be established both with the Ganjar coalition and with the Prabowo coalition," Herman told reporters, Tuesday, September 12. Communication to the two camps, continued Herman, to further ensure which coalition the Democratic Party will join. "Because the most important thing is to open the door. If both Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Prabowo open the door, it's good, we just need to talk about more technical things and of course make it easier for the upper house of the party led directly by Mr. SBY as chairman of the upper house of the Democratic party to decide where the coalition is going," said Herman. Herman was reluctant to confirm which considerations the Democrats would join forces. According to him, the two presidential candidates have certain support because they have met the presidential threshold. "If you form a new axis, it is in the political realm, of course it is possible, but the problem is it takes time, it takes the same platform and this is not easy in a relatively shorter time, right, we have registration on the 10th," explained Herman. Herman ensured that the Democrat Party would not apply for conditions to make Ketum Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) a vice presidential candidate. It's just that if asked, AHY is ready.

"Democrats are more realistic, more rational, that the issue of vice-presidential candidates has certainly become a much earlier discussion in each coalition. Therefore, they are more inclined towards idealism and then which moral ethical commitment is more appropriate for the Democratic party," he concluded.
