Khofifah Asks For Flare Pre-Wedding Cases That Trigger Fires In Bromo Not To Repeat

SERANG - Governor of East Java (Jatim) Khofifah Indar Parawansa emphasized that land fires in the Mount Bromojangan area were repeated.

"I was there two days ago and this fire incident should not happen again. Let's protect our earth, nature and forests," he said when met at the Aston Hotel, Serang, Banten, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 11.

He said the extinguishing process must be carried out vertically by helicopter because of its steep condition.

Khofifah has also asked BNPB to add helicopters that can transport 4,000 liters of water every flight.

"So, it is necessary to process extinguish the fire and discuss it vertically because it is a bit steep, so helicopters are needed. In Arjuno and Welirang the fire has been extinguished," he said.

He said there were several hotspots that had not been extinguished, including in Teletubbies Hill. He hopes the outage can be carried out more quickly and maximally today.

"We hope that today's process can maximize blackouts and wetting in the Mount Bromo area, including in Teletubbies Hill," he said.

He also said that the Bromo area was not completely closed and could still be accessed through Seruni Point, which usually gets the beauty of the sunrise and gets the Bromo landscape.

"It's not completely closed, if Savana is indeed temporarily closed. It can be at Seruni Point who feels like Bromo if you haven't gone to Seruni Point, because there can also enjoy the beauty of the sunrise," he said.
