The Celebration Of The Presidential Palace At IKN Arrives In Kalimantan

The sheath of the Presidential Palace in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) arrived at Semayang Harbor, Prapatan, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan on Sunday 3 September. Two trucks carrying 80 blades of the palace, got out of the ship and moved into the mainland of Kalimantan Island, at 17.21 WITA. Currently, the blades are made of yellow and steel on their way to Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara.

PT Siluet Nyoman Nuarta as the sub-contractor for the construction of the Presidential Palace at IKN reported that the journey of two trucks from Bandung through Tanjung Perak Surabaya to Semayang, Balikpapan, is a journey that will be recorded in history. Departure from Bandung was carried out on Wednesday, August 30 evening, which was preceded by the Sunda Ngarajah' traditional ceremony at the NuArt Sculpture Park Bandung complex.

"This is the first achievement in realizing the dream that the Indonesian nation will finally have the Presidential Palace which is built from the initiative, design and personnel of the nation itself. So far, all palaces that become the office of the president on a daily basis are a legacy from the colonial era," said Nyoman Nuarta, a senior artist who designed the Presidential Palace at IKN.

To meet the palace construction target at IKN, PT Siluet Nyoman Nuarta deployed 242 artists who worked day and night.

According to him, the palace sheaths will be identified and put together into modules at his workshop in Sepaku, which was built specifically as the second 'factories', after the first in Bandung.

In the latest developments, said Nyoman Nuarta, to realize a palace that expresses the shape of a Garuda bird, around 4,687 blades consisting of yellowed blades and perforated storage steel. So far, the work on the blades has reached more than 3,477 yellowed blades and more than 528 perforated blades.

"We are targeting that by October 2023 the yellow blades will be completed, everything will be done. Meanwhile, we hope that the perforated blades will be completed in February 2024," said Nyoman Nuarta.

The arrival of the presidential palace sheaths on the island of Kalimantan is the first stage of delivery. The next steps will be further dispatched by trucks from Bandung to Sepaku.

"Hopefully further the journey of the sheaths that will be an important part of the form of the Presidential Palace at IKN, will run smoothly. Please pray for me," concluded Nyoman Nuarta.
