The body of the victim of the sinking of the LCT Bahana Putera ship named Yokzafil Novsan (23) was found.

A fisherman named Jamal who first found a body while shooting fish around a boat carcass in the waters of Cera Village, Loloda Islands District, North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku (Malut).

Head of Basarnas Ternate Fathur Rahman explained that Jamal, who was looking for fish among the carcasses of the LCT Bahana Putera ship that sank, saw a human skull separated from the body on Monday, September 4.

Jamal saw him while chasing the fish that got into the boat's carcass. A moment later he went up to the surface to report his findings to the residents of Dama village and forwarded it to the authorities.

After receiving the information, said Fathur, at 10.00 WIT, the Morotai SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team moved to LKP using a speed boat to evacuate the victim.

At 14:15 WIT, the Joint SAR Team managed to evacuate the bodies of LCT Bahana Putra victims who drowned on June 19, 2023 in the waters of Mayau Island, Batan Dua. Subsequently, they were taken to Dama Port, Loloda Islands District, North Halmahera Regency.

At 16.05 WIT, the Joint SAR Team arrived at the port of Dama, then handed over to representatives of the victim's family.

Fathur said that one victim had been found. So, all passengers on the LCT Bahana Putra ship have been found where eight people were safe and two people died including the captain of the ship.

Based on the report, the identity of the LCT Bahana Putra GT 302, with 10 passengers on the Manokwari route to Bitung, North Sulawesi, passed through the waters of Batang Dua Island, Ternate City.

He mentioned the identities of the two victims who were declared missing named Buchari Sahafin as the captain (66) and Yokzafil Novsan (23) as cooks.
