Central Java Prosecutor's Office Checks UNS Chancellor

The Central Java High Prosecutor's Office examined the Chancellor of UNS Surakarta Jamal Wiwoho as a witness in the investigation into the alleged corruption case at the state university.

Head of Legal Information at the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office, Arfan Triono, confirmed the examination of witnesses in the alleged corruption that occurred in 2022.

"The examination is at the Surakarta District Attorney's Office," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 31.

He said seven witnesses had been examined, including the UNS Chancellor.

This examination is part of an investigation conducted by the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office.

As for the amount of state losses, Arfan has not been able to explain in detail.

"It's still in the investigation stage, but we will ask for an auditor," he said.

Previously, former leader of MWA UNS Surakarta Hasan Fauzi submitted evidence of alleged corruption on campus to the Mayor of Surakarta.

The details of the alleged corruption amounted to Rp34.6 billion.

The budget is referred to as a submission that was not approved by MWA, but is still run on campuses.

The alleged use that is not in accordance with its designation is suspected to occur in the period 2022 to 2023.
