List Of Countries Participating In Super Garuda Shield 2023, Including The United States

YOGYAKARTA The Indonesian National Army (TNI) held military exercises (lates) with several countries from the United States Indo-Pacific Command. The exercise has the theme Super Garuda Shield 2023. Countries participating in Super Garuda Shield 2023 are developed countries such as the United States and France.

Super Garuda Shield 2023 itself starts from August 31 to September 13 and is held in several locations in Indonesia.

Quoted from Antara, the US Embassy in Jakarta explained that military personnel from the United States, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Britain, and France will participate in the latma.

In addition, military personnel from other countries, namely Brunei, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, South Korea, and Timor Leste, will become observer countries (observers).

Please note, Super Garuda Shield is the largest annual military program between the US and Indonesia. This year the number of participants has increased. Even the US sent approximately 2,100 members of the military, while the TNI will send 1,900 members.

The purpose of holding the 2023 Super Garuda Shield latma is to strengthen the Main Defense Partnership between AS-RI and promote cooperation to support a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

"This multinational joint exercise demonstrates our collective commitment and unitary thinking, enabling the creation of a stable, safe, and more peaceful, free, and open Indo-Pacific," said the US Army Commander in Pacific, General Charles Flynn, quoted from a press release by the US Ambassador, Wednesday, August 30.

Super Garuda Shield 2023 also strengthens partnerships between two countries through cooperative learning and increases trust among the US-RI. The training also includes several things, namely the exchange of expert academics and professional development workshops, command and control simulations, amphibious exercises, airborne operations (airborne operations), training for air bases, as well as joint field training with gun shooting exercises as a peak.

The command post exercise will focus on the mission planning staff's duties within the framework of the joint military. Meanwhile, field exercises will involve elements of battalion strength from each country that train combat skills to increase interoperability and capacity of joint operations.

On the first day of training, TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono opened the Super Garuda Shield with the Commanding General I Corps Lieutenant General (Lieutenant General) Xavier T Brunson which was held at the Combat Training Center (Puslatpur) 5 Marines of Balangan East Java.

"Thursday, August 31 at 10.00 WIB, I declare that joint training with Super Garuda 2023 is officially open," said Yudo.
