JAKARTA - Chairman of the Advisory Council of PPP Romahurmuziy or Rommy commented on the new name of the coalition supporting Prabowo Subianto, to become an Advanced Indonesia Coalition that is identical to President Joko Widodo's cabinet. According to him, the name change was the strategy of Prabowo's supporting political parties. Initially, Rommy said that any combination of political parties was free to determine the name of the coalition. However, he said, the name change has not guaranteed that the coalition will be remembered by the public. "There is almost no politition that remembers the name of the coalition, let alone the people. So if you want to be named, it is the right of its members," Rommy told reporters, Tuesday, August 29.

"The most important thing of a coalition carrying the presidential election is only two, the character and personality of the presidential and vice presidential candidates, as well as programs that answer the people's needs," he continued. However, the former chairman of the PPP assessed that changing the name of the coalition from the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition was Gerindra, PKB, PAN and Golkar's strategy to achieve public attention. Because, the name is identical to the cabinet of Jokowi's government. Moreover, the community is satisfied with the president's performance. "Of course it is part of an associative strategy, identifying itself with Jokowi. This is certain because they believe in the survey, that Pak Jokowi is the most followed figure by our people," said Rommy. In the PAN anniversary event, Prabowo Subianto announced the new name of the coalition that will carry him as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition. Prabowo admitted that this was decided before the PAN Anniversary event began.

Previously, the coalition carrying Prabowo was named the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) consisting of the Gerindra Party and PKB.

Now, after the Golkar Party, the National Mandate Party (PAN), and the Crescent Star Party (PBB) joined their coalition, Prabowo said the party leaders agreed to change the name of the coalition.

"Earlier we, the general chairmen, even though for a short time, Mr. Zul, Mr. Airlangga, Gus Imin, and Professor Yusril. We agreed to our coalition, we will name the Forward Indonesia Coalition," Prabowo explained in his remarks.
