PAN Asks Prabowo To Fight For Food Sovereignty

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan asked the presidential candidate (candidate) as well as the General Chair of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto to fight for food sovereignty.

"We ask our presidential candidates that there is no bargaining regarding food sovereignty," said ZulkifliHasan in his remarks at the PAN 25th anniversary commemoration event, Monday, August 28.

Zulhas said that his party supports Prabowo's desire to pay attention to food, and PAN wants the president to bring Indonesia sovereign in this field.

"Pangan, sir, which Mr. Prabowo has been promoting for food. We fully support it. We want the president to directly lead so that Indonesia is sovereign in the food," he said.

Therefore, said Zulhas, free fertilizer and empowering domestic agriculture is a necessity.

"So free fertilizer is a necessity, buying agricultural prices at a price benefiting a necessity. And that's what we ask from our presidential candidates so that we are sovereign in the food sector," said the General Chairperson of PAN.

Zulhas then asked PAN cadres about whether or not they agreed to investigate the food issue.

The commemoration of PAN's 25th Anniversary was held centrally at a five-star hotel in Jakarta on August 28, 2023. In a series of Anniversary events, there were technical guidance activities that were attended by prospective PAN legislative members from Aceh Province to Papua.

In the event, party chairmen, especially those who are members of the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) were also present, including the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party as well as the presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto, General Chairperson of Golkar Airlangga Hartarto, Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar, and Chairman of the Crescent Star Party Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

Prabowo Subianto also announced the new name of the coalition, which was originally the KKIR, became the Coalition for Advanced Indonesia (KIM).

Prabowo announced the name of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition after meeting with party leaders members of the coalition, in a series of commemorations of PAN's 25th Anniversary in Jakarta, Monday (28/8) night.

"Earlier, we discussed, the general chairmen held even though for a short time, Mr. Zul (Zulkifli Hasan), Mr. Airlangga, Gus (Muhaimin Iskandar, and Mr. Professor (Yusril Ihza Mahendra), we agreed, our coalition, we give the name, the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, "P Prabowo was greeted with boisterous applause from the event participants and the party chairmen.
