Members Of Paspamres Allegedly Involved In Persecution Leads To Death Examined By Pomdam Jaya

JAKARTA - Commander of the Presidential Security Forces (Danpaspampres) Major General TNI Rafael Granada Baay said one Paspampres officer was questioned by the Jayakarta Military Police (Pomdam Jaya) on suspicion of being involved in the persecution.

"Regarding the incident of persecution, the authorities, namely Pomdam Jaya, are currently carrying out an investigation into the alleged involvement of Paspampres members in the criminal act of persecution," Rafael said when contacted, Sunday, August 27, as reported by Antara.

Previously, news circulated about the abuse carried out by Paspampres members against a resident from Aceh in Jakarta. The persecution that caused the loss of the victim's life was said to have begun with the act of kidnapping and threats.

Rafael himself did not specify the chronology of the incident or the number of TNI personnel suspected of being involved, but he confirmed that only one Paspampres member was suspected of being involved and being investigated.

"What is clear is that one member of Paspampres," he said.

According to Rafael, the suspect is currently being held at Pomdam Jaya for information and investigation purposes.

He ensured that if it was proven that a Paspampres member had committed a criminal act as suspected, it would be legally processed in accordance with applicable legal provisions. "We ask for prayers that this problem can be resolved immediately," he concluded.
