Ridwan Kamil Claims TPPAS Legok Nangka Will Become The Most Advanced In Indonesia

West Java (Jabar) Governor Ridwan Kamil claims the Legok Nangka Regional Waste Processing and Processing Site (TPPAS) in Bandung Regency will be the most advanced waste processing facility in Indonesia.

Ridwan said the Legok Nangka TPPAS project, which was carried out by a consortium from Japan, would have the concept of efforts to overcome environmental problems caused by waste into energy using the latest and most advanced technology.

"So, West Java has prepared Legok Nangka to produce energy from waste (waste to energy), and it has been announced according to a long auction. The winner is Sumitomo from Japan," said a familiar man called Kang Emil in Bandung, Friday, August 25, confiscated by Antara.

The construction of the Legok Nangka TPPAS, said Ridwan Kamil, because the Sarimukti Final Disposal Site (TPA) in West Bandung Regency is no longer relevant, while until now, the Greater Bandung area is still dependent on the presence of the Sarimukti TPA which has been hit by fires since August 19, 2023.

"Well, this is also a momentum opportunity that this TPA is no longer relevant, so West Java has prepared Legok Nangka as a waste to energy," he said.

Meanwhile, the Daily Executive of the Mayor of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, continues to support the West Java Provincial Government regarding the Legok Nangka TPPAS, so that it can be a solution for waste management in Greater Bandung, which currently relies on the Sarimukti TPA.

"Hopefully this is proportional to being able to accommodate the piles of garbage currently being held in Bandung City, Bandung Regency, West Bandung and Cimahi. Because now everything is based on the Sarimukti TPA," he said.
