Gerindra Doesn't Want To Participate In Mixing Budiman's Affairs Fired By PDIP

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party emphasized that it did not want to interfere in the matter of the dismissal of Budiman Sudjatmiko by the PDI-P in the aftermath of supporting Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in 2024.

Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, assessed that the dismissal was an internal matter for PDIP and Budiman Sudjatmiko.

"We are not in a position to interfere in internal affairs related to dismissal. On the contrary, we respect the organizational mechanism in the PDI-P. Both PDI-P and Brother Budiman are our friends," Habiburokhman told reporters, Friday, August 25. However, Habiburokhman said, the Gerindra Party was ready to accommodate Budiman after being expelled from the PDIP. According to him, the party chaired by Prabowo Subianto is an open party for anyone who wants to join.

"In principle, the Gerindra party is an open party for all Indonesian citizens. Whoever receives Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika can become a member of Gerindra," said Habiburokhman. "At this time, we have not received information whether Budiman wants to join the Gerindra party, so we don't want to make assumptions," said Habiburokhman. It is known that PDI-P politician (PDIP) Budiman Sudjatmiko has officially received a letter of dismissal from the PDIP DPP in the aftermath of his support for Prabowo Subianto.

Budiman said the dismissal letter was signed directly by the Chairperson of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri and PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto today, Thursday, August 24.

"I have indeed received (the letter of dismissal of PDIP). Earlier at 20.00 WIB I received it," Budiman said when confirmed by the Antara news agency in Jakarta, Thursday night.
