Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture Encourages His Men To Use Public Transportation To The Office

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy asked ministry employees he leads to use public transportation to the office as an effort to reduce air pollution.

"It's better that way. I've seen a lot of people here using public transportation," said Muhadjir in Jakarta, Thursday, August 24, quoted by Antara.

Muhadjir said public awareness in reducing air pollution is important, in addition to other major efforts that are being pursued by the government. One of the easy ways that can be done is by utilizing public transportation.

Moreover, the government has provided high subsidies for public transportation facilities. This is solely to provide the best service to the community.

"If it is not used, it is the same as not being grateful for the government's serious efforts to provide services, as well as avoiding things that are included in air pollution," said Muhadjir.

Meanwhile, regarding the appeal to work from home, aka work from home (WFH), he assessed that the regulation would not be suitable if it was implemented within the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. In addition, the number of employees at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture is not much.

"Because the number of employees or employees is not much and they have good and appropriate discipline. I also often take the MRT, I don't use official vehicles. Even though it's small, it's okay," said Muhadjir.

On the one hand, the government is also looking for other alternatives to reduce air pollution, such as regulating weather engineering. However, the BNPB as the authorized party has difficulty being able to lead rain clouds.

"Indeed, now the peak is dry, so intercepting the clouds is a bit difficult, because we can't dribble yet, just intercept," he said.
