Jokowi Invites President Tanzania To Have The Spirit Of Solidarity Of KAA Bandung

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo invited the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan to have the same spirit as the 1955 Asian Africa Conference in Bandung to strengthen solidarity between countries.

This was conveyed by President Jokowi during his meeting with President Samia at the Dar Esmen's State House, Dar Es senang, Republik Persatuan Tanzania.

"President Hassan thanks for the warm reception to me and the delegation, this is my first visit to Tanzania," President Jokowi told President Samia, based on an official statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 22.

After more than 30 years, President Joko Widodo became the next President of Indonesia to visit the United Republic of Tanzania with the spirit to strengthen collaboration between global southern countries.

In a meeting with President Samia, the Head of State considered that Africa and Indonesia had a strong relationship that had been built for a long time, namely since the Asia Africa Conference in Bandung in 1955 which gave birth to the Non-Aligned Movement in 1961.

Therefore, President Jokowi invited President Samia to continue to strengthen solidarity and collaboration between developing countries through the spirit he once had in the historic momentum of the Asia-Africa Conference (KAA) and the Non-Aligned Movement.

"Spirit 'Bandung' must continue to be strengthened, solidarity and collaboration between countries 'TheGlobal South' must continue to be strengthened," said the President.

President Jokowi said global southern countries reached 85 percent of the world's population.

Therefore, the President considered that the voices and interests of global southern countries should be heard by the rest of the world, including in carrying out development leaps.
